TAKE ADVANTAGE

Phooey!  Nearly three months ago, I was lucky to receive few Benefit Cosmetics products from a beauty subscription.  One of them was a sample size of The POREfessional.  Now, purchasing its full size can only mean one thing: I seriously love this stuff!

Before you continue reading, if you are actually reading this, I would like to inform you that I have an inside tip to share with you, especially to local readers, which can be found at the end of this post.  You’re welcome.

The POREfessional

Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional (PHP 1,700.00 for 22.0mL) is a face primer that has four features that I personally love: (1) Oil-free, (2) lightweight, (3) translucent, and (4) silky.  The ability to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores and the strength to help your makeup hold on like a bulldog are the primary perks that you are going to look forward to if you decide to shell out real money for this product.

According to the direction, there are two methods to use this: (1) Apply product under makeup with your fingers directly to the moisturized skin, (2) apply product over makeup with your fingers very lightly and blend.

GIVE THE GO-AHEAD

Guuurrl, if you think your foundation keeps on sliding right after you step out of your door, you need a good primer like this.  If you do have gigantic pores (like me! ugh!), give this a try.  If you need something new and tired of your old primer tube or you are simply into Benefit Cosmetics, check this out next time you visit the makeup counters.  This can be a good gift idea for makeup junkie friends and girl friends as well.

ON THE CONTRARY

Like most of foundations, BB creams, concealers and primers, Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional has an active Dimethicone as an ingredient as well.  While Dimethicone (also known as polydimethylsiloxane or PDMS) is safe to include on skin products, on the other hand, it has been getting a bad reputation from critics.  Why?  This ingredient is believed to clog pores that may result to adult acne.  So what to do now?  Solution: Use a tried makeup remover.  Have a kick-ass skin care routine: Cleanse, tone, & moisturize.  Never sleep with makeup on.  Have a regular visit to your dermatologist for facial cleaning.

The price tag is steep I know but you may use this until 12 months.  That would be PHP140 only a month.  But if you are short on cash, you need to start saving money for one each month now.  Hihi.

FINAL THOUGHTS + FOTD DETAILS

When I love something, I tend to be loyal to it.  So probably I will repurchase when I am done with my first full size of Benefit Cosmetics The POREfessional until I find something more dependable than this.

I attended a kiddie birthday party last Sunday and this was the makeup look I wore.  Face: The POREfessional (primer), MAC Studio Fix in NC35 (foundation), MAC PRO Longwear in NW30 (concealer), MAC Springsheen (blush), NYX Tango in Confessions of Tanaholic (highlights), MAC Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder/Pressed; Eyes: LORAC The Skinny Eye Shadow Palette in Nude; Eyebrow: NYX Love in Rio 3 Color Shadow Palette in Amazonian Babes; Lips: MAC Russian Red.

  2. OOOh that red. SO pretty on you. Now that thats out of the way, I actually got this in sample size but gave it away to someone whose pores needed it more than mine did lol. I did quite like the texture but I’m such a non-primer person that I would probably never buy it in full size. I *am* however intrigued by their primer in stick form…the 15 hour thingy – but thats because Im a sucker for any makeup in stick form:)

    • Hello Kira Khan, I don’t think it can prevent large pore problem. Just continue with your skin care regimen and I am sure your skin will be all right. I got super large pores because of my HS acne, as I age my skin loses its bounce-back factor so they remained open and hideous. lol. Thank you for visiting my blog. xxx
