This is such a very cute dress!

It’s so cute — it made my dear husband give cute remarks!

Parang may kasama akong manyika ngayon!
(Translation: I feel like I am with a doll today!)

This was recently taken out from one of my boxes where I store clothes for season rotation and for pieces that have never worn at all.

And yes, I’ve never worn this dress until yesterday.

Shame.

And look, according to my past purchases at LuLu*s.com, I purchased this in 2011.

Luh.

When I took this out from the box, it got a little bit of stains on the sleeves part.  Ugh.

I brought this to a laundry cleaning shop for dry clean as per the dress’ recommendation.  Mind you, I follow these things because I am obedient like that.

Unfortunately, the stains weren’t completely gone but the stain’s color fainted a little bit and it may require a couple of more dry clean trips as suggested by the laundry shop lady.

It’s okay.  My wild hair can hide these pinkish stains.

The dry cleaning service was around P365.00 (US$ 7).  I know, right?  Expensive but I refused to wash it at home because I wanted to see the dress in perfect form before I wear it.

And thinking of this dress to last for a long time will make me feel good.

And to see my daughter gets to wear it one day is going to be a mind-blowing event!

DRESS DETAILS

This darling faux-bustie dress boasts a sweetheart neckline and an exposed zipper in front.  A slightly pleated skirt is lined at the hem with a pretty white fringe that also travels the rim of the darling front pockets.

A white short sleeve tee sports a v-cut front and back for a comfy fit and a nice contrast to the navy and polka dot dress!

Made in love by Kara Joy.  Fabric is made of 95% cotton and 5% spandex.  Length is 32″ long.  Not lined.  Medium.

SOME THOUGHTS

Wearing a dress in general almost always gets attention from people around you.  Both sexes may check you out.

When women stare at me, I make random assumptions in my head: Do they find me pretty?  Or they hate me because I am so pretty? LOL.

But anyway, the attention may be an advantage or disadvantage to you — depending on your own perspective and your goals.

You ask yourself: Do I mind attention? Do I like attention or not?

I am an introvert and too much stimulation from outside forces will drain me to death.  When I feel used up, I go back to my cave, be alone, and recharge.

Wearing dresses in a regular basis may be tough to some women due to a lot of things including how to deal with inappropriate stares, commuting, windy day, etc.

Worrying about stairs is another problem and more.

I’ve come up with some solutions with these conflicts:

  • Inappropriate stares: I wear a pair of super dark shades.
  • Commuting: I totally avoid jeepneys so no jeepneys at all.  On the other hand, buses, taxi cabs and UV Express are safer for me.
  • Windy Day and Stairs: Wear a bodycon dress, pleated dress, A-line dress, maxi dress. Avoid very short fit-and-flare dresses, swing and shift dresses and some styles of baby doll, skater, baloony dresses.  Wear Boy Shorts underwear.  Take the elevator or reroute.

In short, be proactive.  You anticipate things and plan ahead.

In short, stop complaining but find a solution.

Or practice the art of #DGAFiing with passion.  If you know how to #DGAF, these difficulties are all irrelevant.

CONFIDENCE AND ME

Through the years of wearing dresses, I still have these struggles like dealing with my ever roller-coaster confidence.  It has always been my confidence, to be honest.

Confidence.  Confidence.  Confidence.

But in my opinion, confidence is a learned skill.  Confidence is like a muscle, which you need to work it out everyday so it gets bigger and stronger.

Again, I am not always confident but I push the boundaries, anyway, so I get to wear a very lovely dress like this one as if it’s a normal way of life.

Until next time!
