FROM DRAB TO FAB
How do you choose the right red lipstick for your skin tone and undertone? Are there certain rules that you religiously follow? Or are you rebellious like a sassy kitty? You’re supposed to wear cool-toned lipsticks if you have cool undertones and to wear warm-toned lipsticks if you have warm undertones. And there is neutral. I can go on forever so let’s save this subject for another time or check this entry.
Well, I love red lipsticks! They are just divine! Red shade can instantly transform my lips and my overall look from blah to wow! In fact, I’d always prefer to purchase red lipstick as an introductory item to a brand. For instance, my first Revlon lipstick ever was ColorBurst Crimson.
I used to stick all the time with warm-toned red lipsticks until I’ve realized despite of my screaming yellow tones underneath my skin, I can also rock cool-toned ones! So it’s safe to say that red is the most universally flattering shade of lipstick! You should be fine if you happen to splurge on your first red lipstick! Trust your gut! If it looks nice on you, buy it!
For this look, I am wearing L’Oreal Paris Lipstick in Pure Rouge. Has a matte finish, cool-toned and very pigmented. What’s your feeling on red lipsticks? Do you side with the notion that red lipsticks are for everyone? Do you agree that there are some makeup rules that are meant to be broken sometimes?
I have seen some fair people look stunning in warm-toned reds! I think it really depends on the person. 🙂 I love Nars dragon girl pencil and Chanel Rouge Allure in 99 Pirate.
